About The Position

This unique program offers the opportunity to gain valuable skills and insights from our seasoned managers and embark on your path to a future management role at Browns Shoes! We believe in promoting from within. Our store managers, district managers, and sales directors all started in the same place: the sales floor. As Management in Training, you'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of store operations, with the potential to grow into a management role. Reporting to the Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency, meeting customer expectations, and maximizing sales potential while learning how to coach, train, and support a team.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in retail
  • Passion for sales and fashion
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to acknowledge and approach customers the Browns way.
  • Learn to provide exceptional product information and handle inquiries professionally on the cash and selling floors.
  • Gain the skills to handle complaints respectfully and with the authority to make reasonable exceptions.
  • Maximize sales and exceed sales targets through effective strategies.
  • Understand and track store performance metrics in percentages and dollars, sharing results with the team.
  • Create schedules in advance to meet store needs and handle payroll administration tasks, including sick days, quota adjustments, part-time slips, and days off.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory counts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Set up and maintain visually appealing product displays, ensuring proper pricing, labeling, and adherence to the visual checklist.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe front and back store environment for employees and customers, including windows, floors, cash desk, and fixtures.
  • Train and mentor staff to achieve goals, improve performance, and foster strong relationships.
  • Identify and develop future leaders through targeted training programs.
  • Support the ongoing development of team members.
  • Ensure sufficient part-time staffing to meet operational needs.
  • Assist team members in resolving conflicts and maintaining a positive work environment.
