About The Position

iA Groupe Financier is undergoing a transformation to enhance user experience and the quality of its IT services. The Service Management team is tasked with delivering reliable, secure IT services aligned with the organization's strategic objectives, utilizing robust processes and an evolving ServiceNow platform. To support this, they are seeking a specialist in CMDB data management to play a crucial role in the reliability of their IT landscape and the advancement of their ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM practices. As a CMDB Data Manager, you will work closely with the ServiceNow platform team, IT operations, and delivery teams to ensure the CMDB accurately reflects the on-premises and cloud IT environment. Your primary mission is to guarantee the quality, consistency, and sustainability of CMDB data, while contributing to the automation of its collection and its optimal use by various IT practices. This role blends technical, operational, and collaborative aspects, suitable for individuals already specialized in CMDB or those from related fields with a strong interest in data and automation.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, information management, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in IT data management, systems administration, CMDB, IT inventory, observability, or a related field.
  • Understanding of configuration concepts, relationships between IT components, and data governance.
  • Strong interest in automation, continuous improvement, and operational reliability.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Rigor, analytical skills, and problem-solving aptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow (CMDB, Discovery, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM).
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Notions of data integration, APIs, or automation.
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS) or willingness to obtain them.
  • Candidates with partial experience but demonstrating strong learning potential and interest in CMDB are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT teams to define and document relevant configuration items (CIs) and their essential attributes, ensuring uniform understanding and application across the organization.
  • Implement and operate data quality control mechanisms (accuracy, completeness, consistency), identifying and correcting duplicate, obsolete, or incorrect data.
  • Manage the lifecycle of configuration items to ensure the CMDB reflects the actual state of the infrastructure.
  • Map and maintain relationships between CIs, adhering to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Plan, execute, and monitor automated discovery activities (Discovery, Cloud Discovery), analyzing discovery errors and collaborating with relevant teams to resolve their root causes.
  • Participate in the integration of CMDB data sources (connectors, APIs, cloud or on-premises providers).
  • Ensure data is correctly reconciled using the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules.
  • Contribute to the automation of data ingestion processes wherever possible.
  • Work with ITSM teams to ensure the CMDB effectively supports incident, problem, change, and asset management.
  • Participate in transformation projects involving ServiceNow, observability, cloud, or automation.
  • Train and educate IT users on best practices for using CMDB data.
  • Contribute to the platform roadmap by proposing improvements to reduce technical debt and increase data value.
  • Respond to audits related to CMDB data and process compliance.
