About The Position

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and mission-driven Geriatric Medicine physician to join their nationally recognized Unity Geriatric Associates team in Rochester, New York. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Board-Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with fellowship training in Geriatrics who is passionate about caring for older adults across the continuum of care. At Unity Geriatric Associates, you will work alongside an experienced and highly collaborative team of 11 physicians and more than 30 Advanced Practice Providers dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care for older adults. This role offers the unique opportunity to practice across multiple care settings, including outpatient office-based geriatrics, inpatient hospital consultative care, skilled nursing facility coverage, and assisted living and long-term care settings. You’ll have the ability to build meaningful longitudinal relationships with patients and families while working within a fully integrated health system designed to support coordinated, high-quality geriatric care. For physicians passionate about teaching and mentorship, this position offers robust academic involvement through collaboration with Geriatric Fellows, Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents, and Medical Students. You’ll play an active role in shaping the next generation of physicians within a dynamic and supportive learning environment. As part of Rochester Regional Health, you’ll benefit from a strong referral network across a large integrated health system, collaboration with a verified Geriatric Surgical Program recognized by the American College of Surgeons, Epic EMR across the system for streamlined documentation and continuity of care, and access to interdisciplinary support teams focused on enhancing outcomes for older adults.

Requirements

  • DO, MD
  • Board-Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with fellowship training in Geriatrics
  • Physician - NYS Office of Professions license
  • Moderate clinical roles require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.
  • Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments.
  • High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns.
  • Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus.
  • Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
  • TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
