About The Position

The Geospatial Software Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in the software development lifecycle, ensuring our products are robust and mission-ready. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of critical geospatial software used in support of the Intelligence Community (IC) mission. The engineer will blend technical software testing expertise with deep geospatial analysis knowledge to identify defects, automate testing processes, and ensure software compliance with government specifications. The primary goal is to deliver defect-free software that meets rigorous government standards and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of intelligence systems, tools and methods used to accomplish the IC mission.
  • Strong working knowledge of geospatial feature data collection/exploitation including SOCET GXP and ArcGIS software
  • Understanding of software testing, and automated testing methodologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Work performed under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Ability to exert influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude, and able to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiar with Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025
  • Working knowledge of Python for automation/scripting purpose
  • Designing and writing test automation scripts
  • Experience in GEOINT, Geospatial Software & Tools
  • Experience with National and/or Commercial imaging systems, image processing, image exploitation, and writing imagery products or reports
  • Self-starter with the ability to work projects with limited assistance
  • Familiar with Geospatial Analysis Integrity Tool (GAIT); topology validation checks
  • Familiar with ESRI software
  • Ability to interpret government specifications to ensure software compliance
  • Familiar with Structured Observations Management (SOM)
  • Equivalent Military experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and conduct both automated and manual testing on the system to confirm that user stories meet acceptance criteria, validating the fit to need and verifying that systems perform as intended.
  • Perform SOCET GXP features testing, utilizing your experience in creating features data and working with geodatabases.
  • Maintain and administer the organization’s Esri Enterprise environment and PostgreSQL databases, including software upgrades, licensing, user management, and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with developers throughout the feature lifecycle by supporting development environments, evaluating new Esri capabilities, and ensuring new functionality aligns with GIS best practices and industry standards.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and develop automated test scripts to increase efficiency and ensure accuracy across various coordinate systems and projections.
  • Work closely with developers to troubleshoot bugs and participate in sprint reviews to ensure every feature meets the end-user's needs before deployment.
