SAM is hiring apprentices for a two-year Geomatics Technician (Survey and Mapping) program. Apprentices work with the surveying team and learn to use surveying technology and equipment to support client projects. The program includes paid training, on-the-job training, and 40 hours of work per week. Upon completion, apprentices receive a Journeyman Surveyor Certification and a nationally recognized credential certified by the U.S. Department of Labor. Apprentices collect angles and elevations for construction, mapmaking, and other purposes. In the field, they learn to take notes, sketch drawings, and read plans, and gain exposure to records research and quality control. The role requires completing safety and corporate compliance training throughout the program. It may involve travel and working outdoors.
