Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry-Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Phoenix, AZ. You will have the opportunity to join a team in Phoenix, Arizona that prioritizes mentorship and your professional growth. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 50% to 75% of their time in the field. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Independent thinking
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely
  • Adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member
  • A Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
  • Conducting groundwater sampling.
  • Providing subcontractor oversight.
  • Operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Performing vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Conducting fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.
  • Performing site inspections.
  • Performing soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field.
  • Task coordination.
  • Data compilation and interpretation.
  • Preparing cost estimates.
  • Preparing health & safety plans.
  • Developing work plans.
  • Writing technical reports.
  • Conducting regulatory file reviews.
  • Writing proposals.
  • Developing project strategy.
  • Managing schedule and budget.
  • Establishing subcontracts.
  • Collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant project work.
  • Supporting National emergency response teams to ensure rapid protection of human health and the environment.
