About The Position

This position is responsible for performing complex analysis and providing technical support related to geographic information systems (GIS), demographics, and zoning. The role involves managing and analyzing spatial data, creating maps and reports, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The Senior Analyst will also be involved in developing and implementing GIS strategies and solutions to support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro).
  • Experience with spatial analysis, data management, and cartography.
  • Knowledge of demographic data analysis and interpretation.
  • Understanding of zoning principles and regulations.
  • Experience with database management (e.g., SQL).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must complete the entire seven (7) year work history in the “Experience and Credentials” section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with GIS scripting or programming (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with web GIS technologies.
  • Experience in the education sector or public administration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis and provide technical support related to geographic information systems (GIS), demographics, and zoning.

  • Create maps, reports, and visualizations using GIS software.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and maintenance of GIS databases.

  • Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand and address their GIS needs.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of zoning ordinances and related spatial data.
  • Conduct demographic analysis and provide insights for planning and decision-making.
