About The Position
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Senior Analyst - DEMOGRAPHICS, ZONING, AND GIS position is responsible for performing complex analysis and providing technical support for the District's GIS program. This role involves managing and maintaining GIS databases, developing GIS applications, and creating maps and reports for various departments. The analyst will also be involved in demographic analysis, zoning research, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity within the GIS system. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro).
- Experience with database management (e.g., SQL, geodatabases).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with demographic analysis and zoning research is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's License.
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience with Esri enterprise GIS solutions.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for GIS automation.
- Experience with web GIS technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder).
- Experience in the education sector or public administration.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex analysis and provide technical support for the District's GIS program.
- Manage and maintain GIS databases, including demographic and zoning data.
- Develop and implement GIS applications and tools.
- Create maps, reports, and visualizations for various departments.
- Conduct demographic analysis and research zoning regulations.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security within the GIS system.
- Provide training and guidance to other staff on GIS software and procedures.
