About The Position

Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk.

Requirements

  • Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Current or planned enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Genetics Counseling program
  • Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field

Responsibilities

  • Creates and updates patient pedigrees in risk assessment software.
  • Assists genetics counselors in communication of normal test results to patients and physicians.
  • Administers patient intake forms and completes family histories.
  • Retrieves patient MR, scans EHR, performs maintenance on genetic counseling data.
  • Assists with the creation of patient education, lecture and seminar materials.
  • Assists in clinical investigations by performing literature searches.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
