About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Golang Developer to design and build high-performance backend services, infrastructure tooling, and cloud-native applications using Go. The role focuses on systems where latency, concurrency, and operational efficiency are critical, and contributes to a codebase shared by engineers across multiple teams. The successful candidate will bring strong Go expertise and broad systems knowledge, including network programming, container ecosystems, and distributed system design. The engineer will work with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions. They will contribute to engineering quality through code and design reviews and by mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. The role also includes contributing to shared Go libraries and platform tooling, maintaining technical and operational documentation, and evaluating developments in the Go ecosystem. This is a full-time, direct W-2 position that is 100% remote within the United States. The stated salary range is $100,000–$150,000 annually. The posting encourages applications from U.S. citizens, green card holders, EAD holders, and candidates transferring an H-1B visa; the company cannot sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least five years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in Go.
  • Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns, including goroutines, channels, and contexts.
  • Hands-on experience building production gRPC and/or REST APIs in Go.
  • Experience with Kubernetes-native development, including client-go and controller-runtime.
  • Experience with relational and key-value data stores.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployment.
  • Strong debugging and performance-engineering skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Open-source contributions to Go-based projects.
  • Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers.
  • Familiarity with eBPF, service mesh, or low-level systems programming.
  • Exposure to security-sensitive Go projects, such as cryptography or authentication.
  • Experience with WASM, Tinygo, or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement performant Go backend services and APIs, with attention to concurrency, error handling, and resource management.
  • Build cloud-native applications using Go and Kubernetes-native libraries, idiomatic Go patterns, well-defined module boundaries, and operational hooks.
  • Develop CLI tools, Kubernetes controllers, and custom operators for internal platforms, including clear command surfaces, robust error handling, and safe reconciliation logic.
  • Implement gRPC and REST APIs with appropriate observability and security.
  • Profile and optimize Go applications for memory, garbage collection, and goroutine behavior, using measurement and data-driven validation to improve throughput, latency, or resource efficiency.
  • Integrate with messaging systems such as Kafka and NATS and data stores such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and etcd.
  • Build automated unit, integration, and benchmark tests.
  • Implement structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to support diagnosis and understanding of system behavior.
  • Lead code reviews and uphold engineering standards in Go projects.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through code and design reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to internal Go libraries, shared platform tooling, and reusable patterns for multiple engineering teams.
  • Maintain current technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decisions, configuration references, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Continuously evaluate developments in the Go ecosystem and contribute to internal patterns.
