About The Position

Responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of a warehouse facility. General warehouse duties are performed within an assigned area of warehouse operations, while supporting all areas of the warehouse as needed. The position involves moving, checking, sorting, labeling, palletizing, replenishing, selecting, and loading merchandise, as well as reporting issues and meeting safety, productivity, and quality standards.

Requirements

Communication skills sufficient to communicate with co-workers, understand and provide directions, respond to management inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Basic knowledge of simple math concepts.
Ability to use a Radio Frequency Unit.
Ability to learn the basic use and operation of motorized merchandise movement equipment.
Ability to maintain annual certification requirements.
Continuous lifting of merchandise up to 65 pounds on a regular basis and occasional team lifting of merchandise up to 85 pounds.
Continuous walking, including long distances and walking up and down stairs.
Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet above ground.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and repetitively push and pull using hands and/or arms above and below shoulder level.
Ability to work continuously for up to 12 hours.
Ability to work in exposure to extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience working in an automated distribution center preferred.
Experience with warehouse management system applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Move incoming or outgoing merchandise throughout the distribution center by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
Check, verify, and audit merchandise to confirm ordered items were received, match the order, and are not damaged or defective; enter data into a remote data terminal.
Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
Replenish pick areas based on replenishment reports and requests for merchandise.
Fill store merchandise orders by selecting and moving merchandise from pick slots to conveyors.
Load outgoing merchandise from conveyors and/or four-wheel trucks into trailers.
Report damages and vendor compliance issues to a supervisor.
Partner with a supervisor to resolve problems or discrepancies.
Meet safety, productivity, and quality standards.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
