About The Position

The General Warehouse Associate works in multiple departments within a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, and replenishment. The role operates material handling equipment to move inventory within the facility and is performed Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The position works under general supervision and exercises some judgment within well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Output is regularly reviewed by a senior coworker or supervisor, and complex or unusual problems are referred to a supervisor. The work environment may involve temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. No travel is required.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating material handling equipment such as order pickers and reach trucks is required.
• Ability to understand written material.
• Generally 2–5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for periods up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working in multiple departments in a distribution center.
• High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred.
• Specialized skills training or certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping product pallets.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed.
