About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a General Surgeon to join three established General Surgeons and one Advanced Practice Clinician in a physician-led, integrated health system group practice in Brainerd, Minnesota. The practice has a Da Vinci robotic surgery program, a collegial group, supportive nursing staff, and access to specialty care including cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and oncology. The hospital is a Level III trauma center with a 24/7 in-house Hospitalist Program supporting patient care.

The practice includes general surgery and endoscopy-related care, which accounts for approximately 25% of the practice. The call schedule is 1:4. The position offers a four-day work week with 36 patient-contact hours, use of the EPIC medical record, and a flexible FTE of 0.7–1.0. Potential ownership in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is available.

The Brainerd Lakes area offers outdoor recreation including fishing, boating, camping, canoeing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and ATV riding, as well as the Brainerd International Raceway. Brainerd is 125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Brainerd Lakes Area population is 65,000, with a regional service area of 115,000. Compensation is $538,230; hired candidates may also be eligible for bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Endoscopy.
• ATLS.
