About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a General Surgeon to join three established General Surgeons and one Advanced Practice Clinician in a physician-led, integrated health system group practice in Brainerd, Minnesota. The practice provides bread-and-butter general surgery and endoscopy-related care, which makes up approximately 25% of the practice. It has a Da Vinci robot program, a collegial professional group, a supportive nursing staff, and potential ownership in an Ambulatory Surgery Center. The facility offers specialty care in cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and oncology, and is a Level III trauma hospital with a 24/7 in-house Hospitalist Program supporting patient care. The position offers a four-day work week with 36 patient-contact hours and flexible FTE options from 0.7 to 1.0. The call rotation is 1:4. The practice uses the EPIC medical record. The listed compensation is $538,230; hired candidates may also be eligible for bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation. The Brainerd Lakes area offers outdoor recreation including fishing, boating, camping, canoeing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and ATV riding, and is home to Brainerd International Raceway. Brainerd is 125 miles north of Minneapolis–St. Paul. The area population is 65,000, with a regional service area of 115,000.

Requirements

Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
Endoscopy experience or capability.
ATLS.
Robotic experience is desired.
