About The Position
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated General Surgeon Core Faculty member to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in resident education, foster a conducive learning environment, possess the skills and commitment to fulfill their teaching and supervisory roles, while still delivering safe, high quality patient centered care. This role offers the opportunity to advance surgical education through teaching, mentorship, and program development, while maintaining a strong clinical presence.
Requirements
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted NYS Medical License and DEA license
- Board Certification or Eligible with the American Board of Family Medicine

Responsibilities

- Developing teacher-learner relationships with residents

- Providing point-of-care teaching tailored to the resident and patient scenario
- Directing residents to appropriate resources
- Assessing residents and providing timely feedback
- Role modeling excellence in patient-centered care, communication, reflective practice, and professionalism
- Demonstrating commitment to professional development through seeking additional training and/or participating in scholarly work
- Demonstrating a commitment to vulnerable populations in current or prior clinical care activities
