About The Position
We are seeking a General Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Kenansville, NC. This role involves inpatient and outpatient services, primarily on a call-only basis to cover supplemental needs. The coverage period is from July 17 to September 28, 2026, with specific shifts needing to be filled in July and September. The surgeon will be responsible for a variety of surgical cases, including but not limited to colonoscopies, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, bowel obstructions, I&D, EGD, and amputations. The position requires the ability to perform ICU/Critical Care procedures, but the surgeon will not be required to respond to codes. The facility has 3 ORs, 49 inpatient beds, 9 ED beds, and 4 Fast Track beds. Support staff includes 2 MDs and 1 Nurse.
Requirements
- Active NC License
- Board Certified (BC)
Responsibilities
- Perform colonoscopies, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, bowel obstructions, I&D, EGD, and amputations.
- Manage strangulated hernias.
- Perform ICU/Critical Care procedures.
- Provide 24-hour call coverage.
- Handle approximately 65 surgical cases per month.
