About The Position

This full-time position involves the cleaning, painting, and minor repair of crane components and accessories for Morrow Equipment Company. The role requires effective communication, collaboration, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, personable, dependable, and possess strong problem-solving and detail-oriented skills. Adaptability to changes in the work environment and the ability to multitask are essential. Responsibilities include preparing crane components, overhauling and repairing crane and hoist components using basic mechanics hand tools, learning to operate shop machinery and power tools, and utilizing proper rigging equipment. The role also involves performing maintenance on tools and shop equipment, ensuring lifting equipment is safe, and strictly adhering to all company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Representatives of the company are expected to maintain a professional appearance and ensure the proper maintenance of company vehicles, tools, and equipment. Employees must notify their supervisor of any unsafe conditions or practices and safeguard company property. The job requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights. Willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, is necessary. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • May be required to maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • May be required to maintain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s carrier.
  • May be required to have a forklift operator’s license.
  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.
  • May be required to complete rigger/signaling training and/or may be required to complete rigging/signal person certification.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability.

  • Clean and prepare crane components.
  • Overhaul and repair crane and hoists components using basic mechanics hand tools.
  • Learn and operate shop machinery and power tools.
  • Utilize proper rigging equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensure lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
  • Follow all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Properly use Company-supplied PPE as required (hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, etc.).
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner, including wearing Company-supplied MEC Branded shirts or uniforms.
  • Properly maintain Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman or District Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
  • Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Work at heights as required.
  • Work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workspace.
  • Assist co-workers whenever possible.
  • Work overtime when necessary.
  • Constantly work in a safe manner and comply with all Morrow safety policies.
