About The Position
The General Shop Laborer supports the manufacturing and assembly of axle products by operating production equipment, preparing components, and assisting with shipment preparation. This position follows work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and quality standards to ensure products meet specifications and production requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to learn. On-the-job training will be provided.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience is a plus, but not required
- Mechanical aptitude is preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely operate shop equipment and tools, including: Table saw, Drill press, Band saw, Lathe, Forklift
- Assist with machine operations to support production schedules and output goals
- Clean, prepare, and organize axles for gearing and assembly processes
- Perform woodworking and crate-building tasks to prepare axle shipments
- Read and accurately complete work orders and production documentation
- Pull and stage materials from designated warehouse locations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Report equipment issues, production concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly
- Assist with additional shop and warehouse duties as assigned
