About The Position

The City of Huntsville’s General Services department is seeking qualified applicants to fill our General Services Electrician position(s). This is a journey level commercial and industrial electrical work performing maintenance, repair, and installation work on facilities and equipment. Work involves performing electrical repair, maintenance, and installation work on buildings and machinery in City owned facilities, parks, and recreational buildings. Assignments are received from the Lead Electrician through work orders, verbally, or in writing.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License or at least a Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Must pass the written portion of the CDL, Class B Endorsement test within six (6) months of hire and/or promotion date.
• Must pass the driving test and obtain a valid CDL, Class B Endorsement within eleven (11) months of hire and/or promotion date.
• Possession of a valid State of Alabama Certified Journeyman Electrical Certificate or 5 years of experience as a journeyman.
