About The Position

The Maintenance Technician supports store operations and business departments by performing preventative and general maintenance activities that extend the life of store equipment and minimize facility downtime safely and cost-effectively. The role calls for a self-motivated person who can adapt to a dynamic workplace and work independently or as part of a team. The position is for the Dayton, Ohio area. Occasional overnight travel may be requested to support special projects or initiatives. Job duties may change with or without notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Strong working knowledge of general construction and building maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload daily without direct supervision.
• Team-oriented approach and professional demeanor.
• Ability to operate a smartphone, respond to email, and share photos, including regular use of Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
• Comfort using a tablet and/or phone to complete required work.
• Ability to operate a truck or similar vehicle.
• Ability to climb ladders to access equipment and facilities.
• Ability to lift heavy objects or equipment.
• Ability to operate various tools and construction equipment.
• Ability to travel long distances for extended periods, including overnight stays.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with associates, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and convenience-store equipment; certification is not required.
• Knowledge of and experience repairing restaurant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and preventative maintenance on buildings and convenience-store equipment at assigned stores, including light carpentry, minor electrical repairs, floor and restroom repairs, pothole patching, signage installation, door repairs, and lock repairs.
• Pressure wash and paint store assets and perform related work to maintain Circle K’s image standards.
• Complete special projects as requested by management.
• Participate in field visits and meetings as requested by management.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with internal and external customers.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties assigned by management that support the success of the assigned area.
• Travel overnight occasionally to support special projects or initiatives, as requested.
