About The Position

The General Service Technician performs basic automotive services, including mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, and vehicle inspections, while providing an excellent customer experience. The technician maintains clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department and may advise customers about recommended or required automotive services and repairs. The role also supports fellow technicians and follows company policies, procedures, and safety and environmental rules.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Passion for a career as a technician in the automotive industry.
Eagerness to learn and a competitive drive to succeed.
Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting of heavy equipment weighing more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling systems, and electrical systems.
Participate in formal training to keep current with changing automotive technology.
Change engine oil and filters.
Install tires and perform tire maintenance.
Install batteries and check starting and charging systems.
Install headlights and other small bulbs.
Repair flat tires.
Install wiper blades.
Stock and unload tires.
Assist fellow technicians and mechanics with technical activities.
Keep store management informed of mechanical repair problems.
Clean and maintain an organized shop.
Follow company policies, procedures, safety rules, and environmental rules.
Maintain clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department.
Provide customers with advice about recommended or required automotive services and repairs when needed.
