About The Position

The General Sales Manager will be responsible for attracting, training, motivating, and maintaining effective and successful sales and finance teams. This role requires the ability to drive sales, revenue, and growth with digital capabilities, and to focus on employee and customer retention. The manager will lead from the front line, be engaged with all retail operations, set benchmarks, accomplish goals, and consistently produce sustainable results. The position ensures that the dealership meets its new and used vehicle sales quotas and objectives, and reaches its profit objectives on a daily, monthly, and annual basis through personal engagement and by planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing dealership operations. The role also involves developing and maintaining good working relationships with lenders and manufacturer partners, ensuring the sales team communicates effectively with clients, establishing goals for Sales Consultants, and maintaining full knowledge of the dealership's products and services. Maintaining an accurate website vehicle inventory on a daily basis is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 4 years of experience as Sales Manager in a franchised auto dealership
  • Great communication skills

  • Ensure that the dealership reaches its profit objective on a monthly and annual basis
  • Accomplish the above objectives through planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing the activities of the dealership operations
  • Focus on customer and employee development and retention
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with lenders and manufacturer partners
  • Ensure that the sales team communicates with clients utilizing various methods such as follow-up phone calls, letters, email marketing, etc.
  • Establish goals for Sales Consultants
  • Build and maintain full knowledge of and enthusiasm for the products and services of the dealership
  • Maintain an accurate website vehicle inventory on a daily basis
  • Coach Sales & Finance Teams to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives
  • Achieve planned unit sales volume by offering balanced and representative vehicle inventories
  • Oversee the process of appraising, reconditioning, wholesaling and merchandising new and used vehicle inventory
  • Achieve assigned profit goals on a monthly basis
  • Lead by example and ensure that the core values of the Company are encompassed in behavior at all times
  • Guide, train, and mentor associates in an effort to develop and retain
