About The Position

The General Merchandise Clerk is an entry-level team member who performs retail tasks related to products, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising. The role focuses on delivering remarkable customer service through product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The clerk collaborates with team members and managers on additional tasks as needed and may work in Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, or Floral.

Requirements

Detail-oriented and organized.
Strong listening and communication skills, both face-to-face and virtually.
Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
Process-driven and able to follow procedures in an organized and efficient way.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis.
Weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

Build rapport with customers and maintain a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
Help customers with questions or direct them to another team member who can assist.
Stock products and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
Use technology to complete activities and tasks.
Complete retail tasks related to products, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising.
Collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed.
