About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a General Manufacturing Manager 2 to join their Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) team in a Test Environment based out of Baltimore, MD. This role involves direct supervision of approximately 15-20 represented (union) employees and processes within a Manufacturing environment. The manager will be expected to work independently and collaboratively across organizations, manage consumable usage to meet budget targets, assign and manage represented employees for maximum efficiency and productivity yields, implement process improvements for affordability, quality, and schedule, and perform necessary SAP/MES transactions for operator and M&P specialist management. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Experience in manufacturing and test processes, production planning, and workforce management is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment; Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment; 12 years of work experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
  • Experience in Functional Leadership to include leading and managing production teams and operations
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Project Management
  • Experience with SAP/MES
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM area
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment

  • Assign and manage represented employees to maximize efficiency and achieve target productivity yields
  • Perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage operators and M&P specialists
