About The Position

The following general description applies to all hourly store team members. Please read the detailed information listed below. This role involves operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. Training is provided on the job. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and coworkers, both verbally and in writing. Essential functions include accurate mathematical calculations, making correct monetary change, and using a computer keyboard or touch screen for order entry. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and differentiating hot/cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, occasional climbing, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, and continuous use of hands for tasks like shaping dough and using tools. Reaching is performed continuously up, down, and forward. For driver or store management positions, duties include delivering product by car, accessing an insured vehicle, and possessing a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Essential skills for drivers include navigational abilities and the capacity to navigate various delivery sites while carrying product. Physical demands for drivers include carrying product during deliveries, driving within a designated area, and walking/climbing to customer locations. Work conditions for drivers include exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries and requiring far vision and night vision for driving.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions
  • Ability to communicate verbal with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
  • Requires valid driver’s license with safe driving record meeting company standards
  • Access to insured vehicle which can be used for delivery
  • Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area
  • Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler
  • Prepare product
  • Receive and process telephone orders
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily
  • Deliver product by car and then to door of customer
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers
