The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, food management, staffing, customer relations, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same standards from team members. The role also involves working to a schedule, completing paperwork, maintaining attendance and punctuality, and upholding store image and service standards. The position includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Team members communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone, enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen, and may deliver products and promotional materials within a designated area. The work involves standing and walking, handling and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and continuous reaching. Conditions may include changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and adverse weather during outside tasks or deliveries. Delivery work may involve driving and navigating stairs or other delivery locations. A valid driver's license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle are required for delivery duties.
