The General Manager role includes the general duties and work conditions described for hourly store team members, as well as the additional duties associated with store management positions. The work involves operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Store work requires communication with customers and co-workers, accurate order entry and cash handling, coordination and precise hand movements, and the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work independently or with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions. The environment may include temperature extremes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and changing outdoor weather conditions. Physical duties include standing and walking for much of the workday; lifting deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds; carrying supplies and food; pushing or pulling trays on dollies; occasional stair or ladder climbing; bending, crouching, squatting, and continuous reaching and hand use. For store management positions, the description also lists delivery duties: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating delivery areas and sites. These duties require a valid driver’s license and safe driving record meeting company standards, access to an insured vehicle, navigation skills, and the ability to carry products while walking and climbing stairs. Deliveries may involve adverse weather and driving, including the need for far and night vision.
