About The Position
The General Manager role includes operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position requires communication with customers and coworkers, accurate order entry, handling payments, and the ability to direct activities, work independently or with others, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions. The description also covers delivery and store-management duties. These include delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, navigating delivery locations and adverse terrain, and maintaining a vehicle in good running condition. A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle usable for delivery are required. Work takes place in a store and may involve exposure to changing weather, cold and hot work areas, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and confined spaces. Most tasks are performed standing, with additional walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and continuous reaching and hand use. Delivery work involves driving, walking, carrying products, and potentially climbing multiple flights of stairs.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and take and process orders verbally, in writing, and by telephone.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying products.
- Ability to perform the physical activities described, including standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous hand use.
