About The Position

Roemer Machine is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager in Davenport, Iowa, to lead its manufacturing operations and support the continued growth and success of the business. The General Manager oversees daily operations across the centrifuge repair and machine shop departments, including production, staffing, quality, estimating, customer relationships, and operational performance.

The position includes working directly alongside senior leadership, with one-on-one training and mentorship to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business. The goal is to develop a well-rounded leader who can independently manage operations and uphold Roemer’s reputation for quality and service. The role is full-time and exempt, working primarily Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on business needs. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of manufacturing or industrial experience, including leadership or management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, and operational efficiency.
• Proven experience leading teams, managing resources, and driving operational performance.
• Understanding of operational costs, financial performance, and customer relationship management.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with Global Shop Solutions preferred.
