About The Position

Yellowstone Country Club, a member-owned private golf club in Billings, Montana, seeks a General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) to oversee all operational activities while the Board and committees focus on strategic initiatives. The GM/COO provides positive, confident leadership, fosters a welcoming culture for members and associates, and emphasizes organizational consistency, team development, sound financial management, member satisfaction, and retention. Visibility and member engagement are critical. The role guides the Board, committees, and staff professionally, respectfully, and diplomatically, and serves as the club’s primary ambassador to members, guests, associates, vendors, and the surrounding community. Yellowstone Country Club has served Billings for more than 70 years and is set on 330 acres beneath the Billings rimrocks. Amenities include a championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., six racquet courts, an expansive pool area, and a full-service clubhouse with dining and themed events. The selected candidate will be employed directly by Yellowstone Country Club, not Troon Golf Management; Troon is an advisory partner to the club. The position oversees club operations and facilities, financial planning and reporting, department leaders and associates, compliance, and initiatives supporting marketing, membership development, community engagement, and member retention. The role directly supervises department leaders and includes ongoing professional development and industry involvement.
