General Manager - South Division
About The Position
Crete Solutions is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Columbia, SC / Midlands Area ready-mix concrete division. This is a senior leadership role with overall responsibility for the division's people, safety, operations, sales, customer service, quality, and financial performance. The General Manager will lead the management team across five locations and have direct accountability for the division's performance, profitability, and continued growth. We're looking for someone who understands that running a successful ready-mix operation means balancing the numbers with what is happening in the plants, in the trucks, with customers, and with the people responsible for making it all happen.
Requirements
- Ready-Mix Concrete experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, aggregates, or a closely related industry
- Strong understanding of ready-mix operations, including production, delivery, fleet utilization, quality, and customer expectations
- Experience leading multi-location operations and cross-functional management teams
- Demonstrated P&L responsibility and strong financial and business acumen
- Ability to understand and use operational and financial data to drive decisions
- Experience developing leaders and creating accountability throughout an organization
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and day-to-day operations
- Ability to build strong relationships with employees, customers, and company leadership
- A strong commitment to safety, integrity, customer service, and operational excellence
- This role is best suited for a leader with an ownership mentality, someone who sees the entire division as their business and takes responsibility for its people, performance, and results.
- You should be comfortable spending time in the field, asking questions, challenging the status quo, developing your team, and making decisions.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the division's Safety, Sales, Operations, Quality Control, and Maintenance leadership teams
- Establish clear expectations and accountability across all locations and departments
- Drive a strong culture of safety, operational excellence, quality, and customer service
- Maintain full accountability for division P&L, cost control, budgeting, and profitability
- Monitor and improve productivity, fleet utilization, maintenance performance, labor costs, and other key performance indicators
- Guide sales strategy, pricing, market development, and customer relationships
- Partner with the sales team to strengthen existing accounts and identify new business opportunities
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, increase profitability, and expand the business
- Ensure consistent operational standards and communication across all five locations
- Work closely with company leadership to execute business priorities and support the continued growth of Crete Solutions
