About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager 4 – Food to lead operations for the brand-new retail dining space opening at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch and shape a new healthcare retail concept within one of the most well-known and fast-paced healthcare systems in the region. The new retail space is currently under development, with an anticipated opening planned for Fall 2026. This leader will play a key role in operational planning, team development, and the successful launch of the program. This high-visibility leadership role will oversee approximately 25 union employees and support a projected retail volume of nearly $4 million annually. While the operation will feature strong culinary leadership onsite, this role will ultimately oversee the full retail operation, driving financial performance, customer experience, operational excellence, and employee engagement. Requirements

  • Strong retail food service or hospitality leadership experience
  • Experience managing unionized teams preferred
  • Financial acumen with experience managing high-volume operations
  • Strong leadership presence and customer service mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Healthcare, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily retail dining operations within a high-volume healthcare environment
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership to deliver an elevated dining experience
  • Manage and develop a team of approximately 25 union employees
  • Drive operational standards, employee engagement, and service excellence
  • Oversee budgeting, labor management, inventory, and financial performance
  • Support the opening and launch strategy of a brand-new retail concept
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and regulatory standards
