About The Position

The General Manager, Americas will be responsible for leading the Americas teams’ sales, operations, business development, and strategic initiatives. This role will oversee all sales (consumer and commercial B2B), supply and distribution, to ensure profitability and long-term success. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with proven commercial capability, knowledge of supply chain, operations and their interdependencies, a proven track record of driving business growth, and a deep passion for empowering and leading others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years in leadership role with 5+ years in an executive role
  • Proven experience in the Consumer Product industry, B2B sales with strong knowledge of retail, manufacturing, supply chain, and market trends.
  • Proven track record in business development, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to drive change and innovation in a competitive market environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to management.
  • Ability to travel Globally to our other regions and across our customer base in North & South America

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall business strategy for the Americas region, aligned to GALE’s Purpose, Company Goals, global and regional initiatives.
  • Translate global strategy into clear regional priorities, operating plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify, prioritize and capitalize on emerging market trends, B2B customer needs, and competitive opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
  • Drive revenue growth and margin value through market expansion, customer acquisition, and strategic partnerships.
  • Own the end‑to‑end go‑to‑market approach for the region, including customer segmentation, pricing discipline, channel effectiveness and key account focus.
  • Sponsor and lead strategic customer relationships, including involvement in complex or high‑value negotiations ensuring retention and growth of key accounts.
  • Ensure strong pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and disciplined deal governance.
  • Lead the Americas Sales and Operations business as an integrated system, aligning demand generation, supply capability, service levels and cost outcomes.
  • Understand B2B customer needs and priorities in order to provide appropriate service, delivery for optimal cost performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational capacity, efficiency, customer service, lead times and execution reliability.
  • Partner with global teams to remove operational constraints that impact growth or customer outcomes.
  • Hold full accountability for the financial performance of the Americas region.
  • Monitor results against budget and forecast, managing costs, margins, working capital and investment decisions. Providing clear financial reporting as necessary.
  • Identify and deliver margin improvement and productivity initiatives alongside top‑line growth.
  • Lead, develop and retain a high‑performing Americas leadership team across sales, operations and support functions (direct and indirect reporting lines).
  • Build a strong talent pipeline through effective hiring, development, succession planning and performance management.
  • Create clarity of roles, accountability and decision rights across the region.
  • Foster a culture of entrepreneurship, accountability, collaboration and insights‑led growth.
  • Foster a culture of global collaboration, ensuring the Americas team works effectively with global functions and regions and vice versa.
  • Represent the Americas Sales and Operations business on the Executive Leadership Team alongside the GVP Innovation & Marketing (Charlotte, NC based) providing a clear regional voice in enterprise decision making.
  • Contribute to enterprise‑wide strategy, sharing market insights and customer intelligence to inform innovation and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, industry standards, and GALE policies; lead in proactive risk identification and mitigation applicable to the Americas region.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for material people, safety, legal or reputational risks in the region.
  • Maintain strong governance across contracts, customer risk, and operational controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, partners and industry associations.
  • Represent GALE at industry events, conferences and external forums to strengthen brand, influence and market presence.
