About The Position

Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and general knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5 am to 5 pm, and requires availability for on-call response. The role involves a variety of repair tasks within an indoor or outdoor building environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years related experience required
  • Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
  • Understand spoken information
  • Understand written information
  • Read and understand work-related materials
  • Follow guidelines to arrange objects or actions in a certain order
  • Notice when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Concentrate and not be distracted while performing a task
  • Combine several pieces of information and draw conclusions
  • Develop rules that group items in various ways
  • Judge the costs and benefits of a possible action
  • Recognize the nature of a problem
  • Understand new information or materials by studying and working with them
  • Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
  • Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to load noises
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands as necessary
  • Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
  • Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hanging doors, installing door locks, and replacing broken windowpanes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
  • Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
  • Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets
  • Paint structures and equipment
  • Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
  • Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles
  • Hangs doors and installs door locks and replaces broken windowpanes
  • Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery
