About The Position

The Building Maintenance Supervisor supports the Engineering team by overseeing lodge operations and ensuring the building remains safe, functional, and well-maintained for both guests and Pack Members. The position requires working both indoors and outdoors year-round, including in varying and adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of building maintenance experience in hospitality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with Building Automation Systems, preferably Honeywell EBI.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Capable of walking, standing, crawling, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching/squatting, and kneeling.
  • Capable of climbing ladders up to 16' tall and multiple flights of stairs, up to 90 steps at a time, multiple times a day.
  • Dexterity of the fingers and hands with ability to squeeze hands, twist and rotate wrists and elbows.
  • Ability to work outdoors as needed, in all weather conditions year-round.
  • Capable of working at heights and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs.
  • Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources. Employment may begin before the results are received, based on the Pack Member’s confirmation that they have no unpardoned criminal convictions. If the clearance reveals a conviction, the employer may terminate employment on a case-by-case basis, providing only the minimum notice required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, with no additional notice or compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Assign jobs and projects via HOT SOS to Pack Members based on priority, and oversee their activities.
  • Oversee and assist team in all pedestrian walkway snow and ice management procedures.
  • Manage Pack Member scheduling, attendance, performance, coaching, counseling, training and recognition.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, directors, outside service providers, and contractors regarding lodge operations.
  • Attend pertinent meetings, such as the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Maintain and monitor the Fire Alarm System and respond to fire/emergency calls as needed.
  • Support and maintain programs on various mechanical systems throughout the lodge.
  • Clearly communicate job expectations and provide timely feedback to foster team success.
  • Contribute to operational standards through strategic input, problem resolution, and improvements in productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement efficiencies to enhance operational and service standards.
  • Uphold and contribute to departmental and organizational missions and goals.
  • Ensure all department performance reviews are completed.
  • Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.
  • Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.
  • Maintain the building automation system controlling HVAC operations throughout the lodge.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Establish and uphold departmental standards focused on exceptional service.
  • Participate actively in the Great Wolf Lodge Like New Program to maintain high-quality facilities.
  • Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Protecting company assets by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing the lodge’s Preventative Maintenance program to ensure reliability.
  • Oversee inventory control to maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Communicate maintenance updates effectively with the Director and management team.
