About The Position

The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor position is to coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair work for the Indianapolis campus buildings. The Supervisor will manage a team of workers, regularly inspect sites, perform safety audits, execute work as necessary, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects. The supervisor will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on the Indianapolis campus buildings mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. The Supervisor will complete minor construction projects and provides supervision to others.

Requirements

  • Must have at least five years of experience in related maintenance work.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Ability to manage a team of diverse workers, regularly inspect sites and perform safety audits, execute work as necessary, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in maintenance trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) or at least 3 years of documented experience at journey level.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Associates degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities.
  • Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
  • Supervise and train workers.
  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Maintain all inventory, equipment, and ensure proper storage.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance work.
  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
  • Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.
  • Ability to work with other team members and vendors to complete work.
  • Ability to lead a team on a multi-building campus adhering to high standards of customer service.
  • The ability to read, write, and understand instructions relating to maintenance tasks.
  • Individuals must have valid driver’s license and be insurable by the College insurance carrier.
  • Must have the ability to use hand and power tools in this trade.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of building trades, and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Effective performance management.
  • Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.
  • Great eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
  • Great time management skills.
