About The Position

The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor position is to coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair work for the Indianapolis campus buildings. The Supervisor will manage a team of workers, regularly inspect sites, perform safety audits, execute work as necessary, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects. The supervisor will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on the Indianapolis campus buildings mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. The Supervisor will complete minor construction projects and provides supervision to others.

Requirements

At least five years of experience in related maintenance work.
2 years of supervisory experience
High school diploma or equivalent GED
Ability to manage a team of diverse workers, regularly inspect sites and perform safety audits, execute work as necessary, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Individuals must have valid driver’s license and be insurable by the College insurance carrier.
Strong knowledge of building trades, and maintenance.
Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
Effective performance management.
Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.
Great eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
Great time management skills.

Nice To Haves

Certificate in maintenance trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) or at least 3 years of documented experience at journey level.
5 years of supervisory experience
Associates degree in a related field.
Must demonstrate ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily maintenance activities.
Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
Supervise and train workers.
Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
Maintain all inventory, equipment, and ensure proper storage.
Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
Conduct preventative maintenance work.
Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.
Ability to work with other team members and vendors to complete work.
Ability to lead a team on a multi-building campus adhering to high standards of customer service.
The ability to read, write, and understand instructions relating to maintenance tasks.
Must have the ability to use hand and power tools in this trade.
Must be able to work from blueprints and plans.
