About The Position
The General Maintenance Mechanic A is part of the Maintenance Team, which ensures operational readiness of plant facilities and supports production equipment. The role involves a broad range of construction, maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks to keep facilities operating smoothly. The position is onsite full time at a facility in the Dallas area and is first shift, though candidates must be able to work first, second, third, or “D” weekend shift according to the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW. The facility requires special access, so applicants must be U.S. citizens. The role is hourly/non-exempt, with a listed salary range of $32.64–$47.92.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of trades training.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- At least three years of related production warehouse and construction experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to special access requirements.
- Must be able to work first, second, third, or “D” weekend shift according to the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.

- Rigging experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical terms and processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on rooftop units, air handlers, hoists, paint booths, and other critical equipment.
- Construct and repair structures such as storage sheds, metal frames, security fencing, and equipment foundations.
- Fabricate and install steel, sheet metal, shelving, racks, benches, and air-duct systems.
- Operate heavy machinery, rig loads, and move large equipment safely.
- Maintain clean work areas, report issues, and support the lead supervisor.
