About The Position

Kaufman Dolowich is seeking an attorney to join its General Liability Defense practice in its New York City office. The firm has more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas. The attorney will represent businesses, insurers, and insureds in a broad range of complex general liability litigation, including premises liability and New York Labor Law construction accident matters. The role offers hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and mentorship while working collaboratively with attorneys across offices and practice groups.

Requirements

Admission to practice law in New York.
3–6+ years of litigation experience; insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, or construction accident litigation experience is preferred.
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery demands and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
Communicate directly with clients, provide strategic guidance, and deliver regular case updates.
Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
Participate in court appearances, inspections, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
Handle general liability defense matters, including premises liability and New York Labor Law construction accident cases.
Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters.
