About The Position

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for our Northampton, PA team. The detail-oriented and analytical General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering financial transactions, as well as maintaining accurate and GAAP-compliant financial documents. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 3–5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation for onsite workdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in environmental services, waste management, construction, or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity/intercompany accounting and consolidations.
  • Prior experience utilizing enterprise accounting ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the General Ledger (including account roll-ups); enter day-to-day financial data and journal entries with high accuracy.
  • Break down, enter, and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, reimbursable expenses, and intercompany accounts.
  • Perform regular bank statement reconciliations (including EWMI & RRI entities).
  • Post and reconcile prepaid account activities.
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Review divisional Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for accuracy prior to closing.
  • Prepare regular monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; review and analyze reports to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Co-manage percentage-of-completion accounting records and corresponding journal entries.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing required documentation and providing support to auditors as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and provide accounting support.
  • Work closely with all members of the accounting team to ensure financial statements are complete, timely, and prepared in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects and all other duties as assigned.
