Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and solutions to internal and external stakeholders; we are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Property Accountant to join our property accounting team. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated General Ledger Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio in the hospitality industry and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The General Ledger Accountant/Bookkeeper will perform daily accounting functions, including cash management, revenue and expense review, invoice processing, and payroll reporting. They will prepare monthly financial statements, reconcile general ledger accounts, and collaborate closely with property managers to ensure the financial integrity of the property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in General ledger accounting or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in General ledger accounting.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ClubEssential preferred.
  • Experience with Country Clubs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage full general ledger accounting for the property.
  • Monitor daily cash activity, review revenues, expenses, receipts, and disbursements.
  • Process Accounts Payable, Record deposits, chargebacks, and reconciliations.
  • Review, code, and select invoices for payment based on cash availability.
  • Assist with timely monthly financial statement packages for property managers and investors.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, receivables, prepaid assets, fixed assets, lender escrows, payables, accrued expenses, mortgages, and security deposits.
  • Post journal entries for expense accruals, tax accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications.
  • Post Payroll and commissions on a bi-weekly basis
  • Understand and complete Vendor applications.
  • Support and enter annual budget preparation processes.
  • Assist with year-end financial reconciliations.
  • Communicate financial and operational issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Complete special projects and ad-hoc analyses assigned.
