About The Position

The General Labourer wraps, bands, labels, counts, and identifies lumber using various lumber handling equipment. This role operates lumber handling equipment at various wood stacking machinery, applies barcodes to lumber, bands and wraps lumber, occasionally hand piles wood, services production machines, and maintains a clean and organized yard. The position requires adherence to all work safety rules and regulations and customer service commitments.

Requirements

• Attention to detail.
• Able to count and identify various lumber products.
• Must have own steel-toed boots.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
• Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must have own reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.
• Forklift certification is an asset.
• Level Three First Aid is an asset.
• Background in Forestry, Wood Processing is an asset.
