About The Position

As a Cleanout Specialist, you will assist the Vacuum Truck Operator in safely and efficiently performing cleanout operations at wastewater facilities and related sites. This role involves hands-on work and the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for setting up equipment, cleaning confined spaces, supporting documentation, driving company vehicles, and maintaining a safe work environment. The position requires working in challenging conditions, including tight, confined spaces, and varying environmental factors, with a schedule that may include extended shifts, on-call rotation, and night shifts. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors year-round.

Requirements

  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to assist with minor mechanical repairs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Rescue
  • Prior wastewater industry experience
  • Familiarity with hydraulic pumps, water pumps, and associated equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up sites, including vacuum hoses, pumps, and safety equipment
  • Clean confined spaces such as wastewater holding tanks, pump stations, and other treatment or processing tanks
  • Support the Supervisor with documentation, including Confined Space Entry Permits, Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports, and other required paperwork
  • Drive company pickup trucks and safety trailers to job sites across Ontario, including overnight or out-of-town assignments with paid accommodation
  • Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Work in tight, confined spaces, and in dusty, wet, or noisy conditions
  • Work extended shifts during the peak season, participate in on-call rotation for emergency response, and adjust to varying schedules, including night shifts
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round
