About The Position

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a General Operator to join the team at the Grand Falls Fry Plant. In this role, you will support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, handling materials, and ensuring McCain’s safety, quality, and performance standards are consistently met.

Requirements

Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong commitment to workplace safety with a demonstrated “safety first” mindset
Ability to work effectively with plant supervision and production employees
Team-oriented with excellent attendance and reliability
Good mathematical skills with the ability to complete production forms accurately and neatly
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated, observant, and proactive with a positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
Lift truck operator skills are an asset; must be willing to learn and operate a lift truck as required
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers at all times
Perform material handling of boxes and bags up to 19 kg
Follow changeover policies and requirements accurately
Complete assigned sanitation duties as required
Troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment to support production
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs)
Support SQCDPE targets by understanding KPIs and setting daily goals
Follow Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in the STEP behavioral safety program
Address production issues while working collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Participate in team meetings, complete required E-learning, and perform other duties as assigned
