About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, is hiring General Laborers for its Utah division in the Provo area. The position involves performing general construction labor at professional construction sites, following direction from site leadership, supporting production goals, helping maintain a safe and clean job site, and using job tools and equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required, and six months to one year of related experience is preferred. Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Work takes place outdoors, often for extended periods and in all weather, including extreme heat and cold. The role involves physical activity and potential exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machinery, and dust or debris.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to read printed materials, signs, and directions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, and move around construction sites safely.
• Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals set by the Leadman, Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Follow direction from site leadership regarding the daily production schedule and activities.
• Work with the Leadman, Foreman, and/or Superintendent to ensure the job site is safe before work begins.
• Keep the job site clean, pick up tools and equipment, and secure the site each day.
• Use equipment and an assortment of job tools.
• Perform general laborer work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
