About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, is hiring General Laborers for its Utah division in the Provo area. The position involves performing general labor at professional construction sites, following the direction of site leadership, meeting production goals safely, and helping maintain a safe and orderly job site. A high school diploma or GED and a passing pre-employment drug screen are required. Six months to one year of related experience is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to read printed materials, signs, and directions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, and move around construction sites safely.

• Six months to one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Work quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals set by the Leadman, Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Follow direction from the Leadman, Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager regarding the daily production schedule and activities.
• Work with the Leadman, Foreman, and/or Superintendent to ensure the job site is safe before work begins.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the site each day.
• Use equipment and/or an assortment of job tools.
• Perform general laborer work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
