About The Position
The General Laborer assists with the general day-to-day operations of the yard and must be able to work independently to accomplish daily tasks. The role supports site cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and sorting and collecting recycling materials while following operating and health and safety protocols. EMR is a metal recycling company that processes a wide variety of metals into sustainable raw materials. Requirements
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, such as snip cutters, brooms, and shovels.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for long periods.
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience using a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
- Assist in maintenance of equipment.
- Sort and pick up recycling material.
