About The Position

Cascades is hiring a General Laborer in Eau Claire to work on the production floor, helping operate equipment and bring materials to life while following health and safety requirements. The role includes operating production machinery and completing product changeovers and quality checks. Papermaking team members are expected to learn and operate lift trucks. The position requires rotating 12-hour shifts on a varying schedule that includes days, nights, holidays, and weekends. Non-rotating positions are based on seniority and may take three years or longer to achieve. The position is designated safety-sensitive; applicants selected for further consideration must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and job-related medical evaluation. Employment offers are contingent on satisfactory results and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Understand the importance of safety, teamwork, good attendance, and production demands.
Ability to work at heights and with different powered equipment.

Nice To Haves

Previous forklift or material-handler experience.
Strong work history with longevity in previous positions.
At least one year of consecutive production experience.
At least one year of forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment such as winders, logsaws, wrappers, case packers, case printers, and case sealers.
Complete roll changes, including webbing up the machine.
Check and fill lamination, tail tie, and pick-up glues.
Troubleshoot machine operation issues.
Operate hand tools, pallet jacks, and fire extinguishers.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to complete product changeovers.
Load boxes by hand to case packers.
Complete quality checks to ensure products conform to specifications.
Perform job functions in accordance with recognized safety guidelines.
Learn and operate lift trucks as a papermaking team member.
