About The Position

This position is for team members currently working at the Hickman Rd Plant (formerly Williams Sausage Company) in Union City, TN. It is a full-time Food Production role on the Kill Floor, involving the humane slaughter of live animals and preparation for deboning. Responsibilities include driving animals, stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating hogs, and inspecting carcasses. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, monitoring critical control points, and potentially training new team members. Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical requirements with or without accommodation are necessary.

Requirements

Must have been in their current position 90 days to promote, demote, or transfer to another shift and line.
No more than 3 points at the time of job posting.
No more than one write up at the time of job posting, in the last 6 months.
No suspensions at the time of job posting, in the last 6 months.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing and able to use knives and knife sharpening equipment.
Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Must be trained in the humane handling of livestock in accordance with the Humane Slaughter Act.
Knowledge of hydraulic cutters.
Keep work area clean and tidy during production.
Recondition meat that has touched an unsanitary surface.
Visually inspect hog carcasses and trim off bruised meat and other visual contamination.
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Monitor Critical Control Points (CCP) as specified in plant’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Plan (HACCP).
Other duties as assigned.
Act as key trainer for on-the-job training to new team members.
Maintain and promote team member interest in safety.
Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed.
Promoting company culture of respect for all team members at all times and notifying the plant manager when observing conduct that violates this culture or company policies.
Manual dexterity required for performing job.
