About The Position

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and machinery. It is a full-time role within the food production industry. The plant was formerly known as Williams Sausage Company and is now named Hickman Rd Plant, located at 5132 Old Troy Hickman Road, Union City TN. This role is specifically for internal team members currently working at the facility or complex. Team members interested in transferring from another Tyson facility should contact their local HR Partner. Prior Tyson workers have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to three employments.

Requirements

  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to promote, demote, or transfer to another shift and line.
  • No more than 3 points at the time of job posting.
  • No more than one write up at the time of job posting, in the last 6 months.
  • No suspensions at the time of job posting, in the last 6 months.
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
  • At least one (1) year of industrial maintenance work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of a Maintenance Technical School/Program.
  • Must be able and willing to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Must be able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced skills preferred in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, welding, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, or PLC programming.
  • Forklift certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Install facility machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
  • Program PLC's.
  • Perform maintenance on facility.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new team members.
  • Maintain and promote team member interest in safety.
  • Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed.
